There are a variety of ways to get to know NC State's campus and community. Whether you visit us in-person or from the comfort of your own home, we're excited to show you around.

On-Campus Visits

If you visit campus on a weekend or university holiday, feel free to stop by the Joyner Visitor Center to grab a brochure from our bin outside.

Admissions Information Sessions

Prospective first-year and transfer students who have not yet applied to NC State are invited to attend an on-campus admissions information session and student-led campus tour. Campus visits are offered Monday through Friday starting at Talley Student Union. You can expect to be on Main Campus for approximately two hours.

Tour availability is live and up-to-date on the pages below. We do not offer a waitlist for campus visits. If a tour is full, please select a different date or check again later to see if space becomes available.

First-Year

Students who are currently in high school should attend a first-year visit.

Transfer

Students who have graduated from high school and taken college courses should attend a transfer visit.

Virtual Information Sessions

Learn about our home without ever stepping foot on campus! We offer a variety of virtual options to help students gain a sense of what it means to live and learn at NC State. Register for one or more of the options on the right based on the information you are interested in learning.

Once registered, a Zoom meeting link will be provided by email the day of the session.

First-Year

Students who are currently in high school should attend our first-year information session.

Military

Active-duty and veteran status military students should attend our transfer information session.

Transfer

Students who have graduated from high school and have begun taking college courses at another institution should attend our transfer session.

International

Students who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents should attend our international information session.

Self-Guided Campus Tour

Want to experience the Wolfpack spirit on your own schedule? Our self-guided tours are the perfect way to discover campus at your own pace—no tour group required. If you’re not registered for a guided campus tour, you can still explore NC State by registering for a self-guided visit.

First-Year

Students who are currently in high school and interested in learning more about the Wolfpack.

Transfer

Students who have graduated from high school and have begun taking college courses at another institution.

Our registered self-guided tours are available Monday through Friday, and you’re welcome to arrive on campus anytime between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Once you register, we’ll send you everything you need to make the most of your visit.

The self-guided campus tours are accompanied by a video playlist featuring undergraduate students. The video playlist and self-guided tour highlight our well-known student spaces on NC State’s Main Campus, including Talley Student Union, Wellness and Recreation and D.H. Hill Jr. Library.

Whether you’re wandering through the Brickyard, checking out our innovative classrooms or just soaking in the energy of student life, you’ll get a real feel for what it’s like to be part of the Wolfpack. Plus, our self-guided tour lets you focus on what matters most to you—whether that’s academic buildings, residence halls or the best places to grab a bite.

Can’t make it during the week? That’s okay! You can still stop by the Joyner Visitor Center or the Campus Visits Office to pick up a physical self-guided tour map and additional visitor materials, even if we’re not there.

If you are on campus during our business hours, admissions counselors are available on a walk-in basis to ask any questions about our admissions process. No appointment is necessary!

College-Specific Information Sessions

With 100+ majors across 10 undergraduate colleges, NC State offers a wide variety of academic programs to fit students’ interests. You must select a major of interest or two when completing the application to NC State, which is taken into consideration in the admission review process.

We encourage students to register for college-specific sessions to learn more about the majors offered to narrow down their choice(s). Visit options vary by college.

Group Visits

We welcome prospective high school and transfer student groups to attend an on-campus admissions information session followed by a student-led campus tour. Elementary and middle school groups are invited to participate in a self-guided tour.

Parking and Directions

Information Session Parking

Information sessions are held at Talley Student Union. Visitors must pay to park in the Coliseum Deck. Visitors will need to enter the parking deck through the Cates Avenue entrance and pre-pay by phone using the ParkMobile app.
